Twenty years of developing and delivering media strategies for brands such as MasterCard, AT&T, Continental Airlines and Nestle has taught me one thing. Nothing, simply nothing, is more important than truly and authentically understanding the mindset and mindstate of a consumer. This is true when determining a marketing or media mix, an engagement strategy, a promotional event or the value of a sponsorship. Every individual is different, yet all are influenced by a limited set of forces which drive specific actions and results. These can be (but are not limited to) their friends, their past experience, their aspirations or even their fears. Leveraging insights around, and "walking in the shoes" of consumers in the pursuit of understanding that delivers specific behaviors and drives real business results is and has been my career passion.

I've been extremely fortunate to share my passion and work alongside incredibly talented people at Facebook, Dell, GSD&M, The Richards Group and The Bloom Agency (now Optimedia). I share the world with my wife of 17 years and two children who know a world far different than one we grew up in, and seeing it through their eyes is truly a marvelous gift and a reason to be so excited about the time and technology with which we live.
